Abaddon possesses Josie Sands sometime before her initiation into the Men of Letters.

Abaddon uses Josie as a meatsuit as she slaughters the Men of Letters and follows Henry Winchester through the portal to 2013. Josie is eventually dismembered with Abaddon still inside of her, tied to her body with a devil's trap bullet.
8.22 Clip Show
Sam and Dean discover a film made by Josie in the Bunker's archives of a new type of exorcism performed by two priests, Father Max Thompson and Father Simon aimed at curing a demon and making it human again. The attempt fails and the demon escapes while the old woman it was possessing dies horribly.
After finding out how to cure a demon, Sam and Dean put Abaddon, still possessing Josie, back together but leave off her hands. Abaddon reveals that she learned about Josie and the Men of Letters from Father Thompson when she killed him and decided to use Josie to infiltrate and destroy them.
8.23 Sacrifice
When Crowley calls for help Abaddon, still possessing the stitched-together Josie, arrives, throws Sam out a window and beats on Crowley because she doesn't like the idea of Crowley in charge. Before Crowley can be too badly hurt, Sam returns and sets Abaddon on fire forcing her to flee Josie in smoke form and allowing Josie to finally die.
9.02 Devil May Care
Abaddon has a demon perform a ritual that restores Josie's badly burned body, allowing her to take Josie as her meatsuit once again. However, it is unclear whether Josie was resurrected as well or if just her body came back.
